Insulator (Heat and Frost) Compulsory Certification Consultation
The Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Board accepted an application to change the designation of Insulator (Heat and Frost) from voluntary to compulsory certified. The Board established a Trade Advisory Committee (TAC) to review the application, consult with industry and make a recommendation. The TAC is recommending compulsory certification of mechanical insulation and firestopping, and application of spray foam insulation. The TAC is seeking broader industry input and will make a recommendation to the Board after consultation.
